The purpose of FROM BUILDERS FOR RE-BUILDERS is for builders and carpenters to drop off used and new hand, power tools, and long-handle tools to independent lumberyards, and for those tools to make it into the hands of re-builders throughout the Gulf Coast. This might seem like a “Goliath” undertaking, but with some careful planning and help from industry leaders, we will succeed.
The key to this organization’s success is developing a collection and delivery system for these tools. Logistically it might seem like a challenge, but the solution is simple. I am currently looking for assistance in the following areas:
-
Independent Lumberyards across the United States that will agree to serve as a “drop off locations” for tools. Shortly, Independent Lumberyards can register on the web page to become an official drop-off site. They will then receive marketing material and instructions to help them with this mission.
-
Lumber and Building Materials Distributors that would agree to pick up tools from the Independent Lumberyards during regularly scheduled deliveries. Once a delivery truck gets back to your regional distribution center, the tools can be placed on a normally scheduled redistribution shipment and dropped off at F.B.F.R. Collection Center while in route to a destination in the Gulf Coast area.
-
Lumber Dealer, Home Builder Association, or a National Distributor located near the Gulf Coast area (ideally just outside of the disaster zone) that could serve as a F.B.F.R. Collection and Redistribution Center where the tools can be delivered and distributed to those who need them. The details on this are being worked out and F.B.F.R. is looking at ways to stream line this process to make receiving and redistribution of the tools straightforward.
Please feel free to contact me if you would be willing to assist us with this effort, or with any questions that you might have.
